A public sector central portal has been launched to provide news and information directly to civil service desktops. 'The Wired-gov system addresses the need for an all-encompassing management information portal to the six million workers in the UK's largest affinity group - the public sector' said Steve Waldron, managing director of SourceUK.net, the company behind Wired-gov. He added that the 250,000 managers in the sector control a budget of around pound 160 billion.
