My home town of Pittsburgh has no shortage of economic development authorities frothing at the mouth about how good we have it here. Our university/corporate/technological brains and legacy of industrial brawn make it the ideal place to be, goes the story. The may be true, but there's one big problem: we're only telling ourselves about what a great deal we have. We're preaching to ourselves.
