The 10 th European Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (10th EWSHM) is to be held at the University of Palermo from 4 to 7 July 2022 in Palermo, Italy. The workshop represents a forum where experts from around the world can discuss the latest advancements and breakthroughs in the field of SHM and more broadly in the fields of smart materials and intelligent systems. It fosters the discussion and identification of key and emerging challenges and opportunities in research, development and field applications that are critical and unique in SHM. The 2022 workshop is also intended to promote communication exchange and cross-fertilisation between multiple engineering disciplines and beyond.Topics of special interest include: physical principles monitoring; advanced signal processing, statistical data analysis, data mining/ fusion, real-time diagnostics/prognostics, machine learning, inverse methods and big data; modelling and simulation; novel smart sensors, sensors for extreme environments, MEMS/ NEMS sensors, fibre optics, piezoelectric/ magnetoelectric sensors, nano/microsensors and wireless sensors; energy saving, harvesting and conversion; SHM system design and cyber-physical systems; smart cities and SHM for the IIoT; autonomous systems, automotive, remote sensing and remote support, robotic and UAV platforms for SHM and maintenance intervention; full-scale structural demonstrations and applications; SHM methods applied to the biomedical domain, wearable devices, implants with sensing capabilities, health monitoring devices; bio-inspired sensing, self-diagnostic networks, hardware-software integration; Industry 4.0, additive manufacturing, advanced manufacturing techniques, manufacturing with sensor data and multi-objective design optimisation; SHM in action; and validation/ certification.
