摘要

The paper introduces the method of investigation for landuse, it is taken landsat image as sources, based on the rules of operation for landuse investigation on special resource and environment elements. There are 8 landuse classes and 32 second-classes for coastline in Hainan Island. And the basic database for landuse types of coastline in Hainan Island has been set up on basis of GIS. It provides landuse map for the scale of 1:10,000. It's related to data tables, result map and collected data. The study reflects accurately the situation of landuse, the extent quantity and distribution of exploiting land resources. on the other hand, it reflects the basic feature and distributing characteristic in different regions. They can provide scientific basis for land management of coastline.
