The drive has a pressurizing medium-subjectable piston (3) axially and movably arranged with an integrated position sensor (5) in a cylinder housing (1). A cylinder switch (2) accommodates two sensor elements (7a 7b) that are arranged to each other in a defined distance (A). Binary signals of the sensor elements are fed to a downstream electronic evaluation unit, which determines a speed and/or acceleration of the piston and diagnostic information for operating condition control by analysis of temporal flow of the binary signals.
