PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display controller, a map information update device, a map information update system and control programs for them by which desired map display is obtained by using an information providing system, etc.;SOLUTION: A car navigation device 123 is connected with a system 101 on the center side of the information providing system via a digital mobile telephone system when a road map is displayed by the car navigation device 123. Information regarding the map displayed at present is transmitted from the car navigation device 123 to the system 101 on the center side of the information providing system and the map display displayed by the car navigation device 123 is reproduced in the system 101 on the center side. A user of a car navigation device 101 and an operator of the system 101 on the center side have a conversation over the telephone, a user of the car navigation device 123 transmits the desired map display and the operator updates the map display based on the contents of the conversation. The information regarding the map updated by the system 101 on the center side is returned to the car navigation device 123 and the map display on the side of the car navigation device 123 is updated based on the information.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
