In ChERD's usual style,this issue provides an insight into high-level research into process design and operation from a European and wider global perspective.The generation of more insightful models and deeper knowledge of processes inevitably manifests itself in better practice.But just how good are we in disseminating this knowledge as a community? Although a relatively small proportion of papers originate from industrial sources,I am afraid my answer to the question is 'not as good as we should be'.What did you rate as the ten best innovations from the sector last year? Such questions are not easy to answer but perhaps they should be on our minds more.
