The size of agricultural output of all producers (agricultural organizations, peasants, farmers, the population) totaled in August 2003 at current prices R182.9 billion; and for in January-August 2003, it amounted to R602.4 billion. As of September 23, 2003, according to express data of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, enterprises of all categories collected grain and leguminous crops on the area of 33,434 thousand hectares (78.5% of all areas), and threshed 62.807 million tons of grain (by the similar date in 2002: 83.375 million tons of grain). Productivity of grain in agricultural organizations in initially accredited weight made 19.0 metric centners/hectare against 22.4 centners/hectare in September last year. Due to the early start and high rates of harvesting in the Asian part of Russia, threshed grain crops exceeded in relative figures the past year's level.
