摘要

The mission of the DEFA is to support the French and European aerospace industries in the area of propulsion. The targeted areas are turbojets, subsonic and supersonic combustion ramjets, solid fuel and liquid fuel rocket motors, pulse detonation engines, micromotors for midget drones and other energy systems. The activities are numerical and experimental, fundamental and applied. The scientific areas covered are aerothermomechanics and aerothermochemistry. All advances are concentrated in the CEDRE computation code that represents the most efficient means of transferring scientific and technical know-how. The following paragraphs first illustrate initial studies for understanding complex phenomena, then more advanced studies linked to innovative concepts.
