Activities in the DSNA department cover two main separate areas: on the one hand computer-based flow simulation in aerodynamics and energetics, and on the other aeroacoustics. In terms of computer-based flow simulation, the outstanding activities in 2005 involved the issues mentioned below. As regards the development of viscous/inviscid interactions, the progress achieved yielded a «3rd generation VIS07 code» at a 2D stage, applied in 2005 to dynamic stall and to airfoils with very severe forms of icing.
