摘要

Over the past two years, the scientific and techni-cal orientations ofthe Materials and Structures bronch have been refined in accordance with the Sfrategic Scientific Plan presented to the High Scientific Council in 2006. Considering the complexify of the appli-cations dealt with oncf fhe need for coupling many physicol phenomena, the multi-scale and mulii-physical approaches were strengthened, induding from the viewpoint of advan-ced numerical simuhtion.It should olso be noted that, with the rising /'mporfance of composites in structures, a ?composite materials and siructures? theme has been instituted with the idea of dealing with the problems of dimensioning lifing , crash, internal vibro-acoustics, aero-elasticity, etc, with o more global and interactive vision in the Branch. A ?stochastic? federative research fheme (ARF) has a/so been initiated to befter understand and deal with the problems of uncerfainty and variability.
