摘要

The acoustic field generated by a subsonic fan is mainly due to interactions between the rotor and the outlet guide vanes. Its space structure at a given fre-quency is determined by circumferential symmetries. Modal analysis has been used for nearly half a century to measure the angular and radial components, but this is still long and expensive.Several laboratories have thus recently tried to estimate the spinning modes from conventional free-field directivity measurements. This would give information on the sources and input data for computations in other conditions (e.g., optimisation of acoustic linings). The present method (in the fra-mework of the European Silence? project) is split into two steps (figure 1).
