The quantitative analysis of trace elements is one of important keys for studying numerous processes of research interest in the environmental science. Here, we present the results of a preliminary study for the quantitative analysis of five trace elements retained in a single raindrop. To prepare the reference standards with uniform thickness. Si, K.C1, CaF_2 and Fe reference reagents were deposited on substrate films by evaporation system. Micro-PIXE analysis was performed at the division of TIARA in Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute. Through the analysis of these standard samples, each element calibration curve was successfully plotted by mass thickness ((μg cm~(-2)) and peak counts (counts nC~(-1)) obtained from 2.6 MeV H~+ microbeam. For the sampling of individual raindrops, a field measurement was carried out at Kyoto University in November 2001. It was possible to calculate the mass thickness and mass of each element retained in individual raindrops using each elemental calibration curve, sample's net counts and microbeam scanning area.
