1. Repeatability coefficients of variation for the determination of alpha-amylase by the automated Skalar iodine method ranged from 1.7 to 4.9% and were judged acceptable.rn2. Reproducibility coefficients of variation for the determination of alpha-amylase by the automated Skalar iodine method ranged from 11.7 to 18.1% and were judged acceptable.rn3. Based on the paired t test for differences in means, no statistically significant differences were found between the automated Skalar iodine method and the manual method in the determination of alpha-amylase in malt.
