In this paper, a limited authority adaptive PD control method is proposed and applied to ship steering control. The controller is designed by using the Nomoto's model and its ARMA description. Efficiency of the proposed control scheme is studied and illustrated by simulations carried out with linear and non-linear models. Copyright
