摘要

This editorial is written as the third year of publication of 21st Century Society draws to a close, with the publication of this issue (Volume 3, number 3) and the eighth issue in total. Next year the Academy will celebrate its tenth anniversary, with a major conference on the future of the social sciences, from which the Editors hope to publish contributory papers. The last three years have seen major changes in the Academy and the journal. Stephen Anderson is welcomed as Executive Director, as is Sir Howard Newby as the new President. Having stepped down as President, Professor Lord Bhikhu Parekh is remaining as a member of the International Editorial Board and as a Lifetime Vice-President, a new honorary post created to honour our most distinguished and highly esteemed Academicians.
