The Royal Courts of Justice on The Strand is a leading London landmark, dating back to 1882 when they were opened by Queen Victoria. The site itself occupies in the region of 3 hectares and the building is around 74m tall. Due to its age, size and location in central London, specialist concrete repair is vital for Its maintenance. Terry Jerrom of Stone Refurbishment reports. Having completed a number of major renovation and repair projects at the Royal Courts over the past two years, Stone Refurbishment was recently contracted to carry out a decorative concrete repair scheme and, because the building itself is swathed in history, the project required a high level of understanding of site location and the day-to-day use of the whole building.
