Senior advisory engineer Ian Heritage recently delivered an extremely successful 'Cracking in Concrete - causes, prevention and remedial actions'TR22/TR44 seminar for Yorkshire Region at Leeds University. Over 50 people attended the event, with another 28 enquiries after registration was closed. The attendees were material suppliers, structural engineers, academics, students and asset owners - a good mix to create a fantastic event. Basic principles were explored and investigation methods analysed. Post-presentation discussion was robust, with numerous salient questions being asked and answered. This was the first Society event held at Leeds University and it is encouraging to see the support of such an esteemed establishment, driven particularly by head of school Muhammed Basheer.
