摘要

A sand-slag mix is basically composed of one or several sands, a vitrified slag and an activating agent; moreover, its primary application lies in producing road pavement foundations. As of their composition, sand-slag mixes experience dimensional variations due, in large part, to the presence of hydration. In this study, the influence of both the mode of preservation and parameters related to the content and type of activating agent is assessed for two categories of mixes exhibiting highly different form coefficients and maximum dimensions. Each spontaneous dimensional variation in hydraulic materials during the course of hydration results from the action of two competing phenomena: chemical swelling and hydric shrinkage, both dependent upon hydration and to which a third phenomenon of drying shrinkage gets combined. Sand-slag mixes held at humidity levels below saturation systematically display, after several days of preservation, shrinkage that depends on the size of capillary voids as well as on deformability of the material.
