摘要

In order to remove any doubt about the on-site mechanical performance of slag bound granular mixtures, a study focusing on projects in France using partially ground blast furnace slag from hematite cast iron (Dunkirk, Fos, Lorraine) was undertaken both to verify the laboratory evaluation procedure for 1-year performance levels and to obtain more long-term performance measures on boring samples. This study has demonstrated that when all composition and density characteristics are in compliance, the performance readings stemming from the laboratory study do not exceed those obtained on site and moreover tend to reveal the opposite. The investigation confirmed not only the validity of the French method based on laboratory assessment of the mechanical performance of hydraulically bound granular mixtures, but also the assurance of respecting the parameters of the basic mix design selected at the time of fabrication and implementation.
