摘要

The beams of the Saint-Vallier composite Bridge (Drome-southeastern France) were instrumented in order to study the behavior of a welded joint submitted to a road traffic overload. The performed measurements are completed by a road traffic analysis that enables to compute the fatigue-based damage of this joint. By determining the stress variation histograms in the joint and then computing the elementary damage for the detail category 45 (presence of additional reinforcement plates), this study has led to estimate, based on the actual traffic history, the fatigue lifetime of this instrumented joint to approximately 80 years.
