Two-site High Frequency Ocean Surface Radars (HFOSRs) observation and satellite infrared observation were carried out around entrance of the Funka Bay, Hokkaido, Japan from 9 January to 9 March, 1995, and from 1 January to 24 March, 1996. There were at least two evidences of the intrusion of Coastal Oyashio water (COW) to the Funka Bay. The intrusion process of COW might not be continuously but intermittently. The intrusion pattern of COW into the bay in 1995 was quite different from that in 1996. In 1995, COW confined along the coast of southwestern Hokkaido. In 1996 COW distributed widely throughout coastal region. The differences were also indicated by current systems generated by HFOSR.
