The human intervention in the dynamics of natural river flow through the construction of dams and other structures is very controversial. The environmental aspects are quite large and the stakes are very high Although hydraulic models have advanced considerably and give good forecasts quite dependably it seems that the model of lake Nassir failed to do so in a very short life span of the dam: within just three decades. Large amounts of sediments have been deposited at the mouth of the lake inside the Sudan forming an island This study is dealing with this delta and an explanation is being formulated using satellite images: for mapping the water body of lake Nassir within the Sudan. Border and a little bit to the north of it, on a scale of 1:1,000,000. The length of this island was found to be about 30 km. and its width is varying between 2.5to 4 km. In 1972. A model frame is being proposed. Some conclusions and recommendations were drawn.
