摘要

The Space flyer unit (SFU) is an unmanned, retrievable and reusable multi-purpose space platform. It was launched by the jananese H-II launch vehicle in March 1995 and was retrieved by the United State's Space shuttle STS-72. We tried real-time orbit determination for the SFU using Global Positioning System (GPS), and the expeirment was very successful. In addition to the free-flight, we were able to evaluate continuous real-time OD solution during orbital manewuvers and attitude control. The real-time orgbit solutions from the experimental GPS receiver onboard the SFU are evaluated in view of their accuracy and reliability for use in SFU orbit determination.
